We're seeking an experienced, hands-on Operations & Commercial Manager to help drive performance, efficiency, and growth within a well-established business in the windows and doors sector. This role combines operational leadership with financial analysis and commercial strategy, and will play a central role in shaping the next chapter of the company's journey.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
Develop a deep understanding of all departments from showroom to workshop floor.
Monitor and assess team performance across all areas of the business.
Ensure accountability and alignment with business objectives and daily standards.
Drive operational efficiency by identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions.
Financial & Accountancy Support
Handle daily bookkeeping and oversee general financial operations.
Monitor and manage cash flow, job costing, and profitability.
Maintain detailed spreadsheets of jobs completed and jobs in progress.
Provide analysis of job margins, highlighting missed opportunities and areas for financial improvement.
Commercial Strategy & Business Development
Identify new commercial opportunities and underperforming areas within the business.
Recommend and implement strategies to reduce overheads and improve efficiency.
Explore new markets and help shape the company's entry into them with data-led evidence.
Collaborate with the MD to execute long-term growth plans.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Background in operations or general management within a manufacturing or construction setting.
Strong financial acumen with experience in both bookkeeping and higher-level financial analysis.
Experience in business development or strategic commercial roles.
Excellent leadership and people management skills.
A working knowledge of the windows and doors industry is highly desirable.
Highly organised, analytical, and self-motivated.
