We're looking for a

driven Operations Controller

to join our team on a

permanent basis

About the Role

As an

Operations Controller

, you'll be at the heart of our service centre, ensuring every delivery runs like clockwork. You'll manage real-time operations, support drivers, and be a key point of contact for customers, making sure promises are kept and expectations exceeded.

Key Responsibilities

Work Allocation:

Fairly and efficiently assign jobs to couriers.

Customer Service:

Take bookings, advise clients on services, and keep them updated from pick-up to proof of delivery.

Real-Time Coordination:

Track and monitor jobs through to completion, prioritising premium clients and resolving any issues swiftly.

Problem-Solving:

Anticipate and handle operational challenges, from route changes to delays, with a proactive approach.

Service Standards:

Implement and maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for both customers and the service centre.

Driver Support:

Provide guidance and support to ensure smooth communication and performance.

Fleet Management:

Ensure the fleet is at the right level to meet demand, especially during peak times - recruiting where necessary.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience in an Operations Controller, Transport, Logistics, or Despatch role.

Minimum 2 year's experience.

A

customer-first attitude

and proven ability to exceed expectations. Excellent communication skills with clients, drivers, and colleagues - always professional. Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently. Solid problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. Good geographical knowledge Computer literate with reliable punctuality and attendance.
