The Operations Controller plays a central role in coordinating all aircraft handling, passenger, and crew services to ensure smooth and efficient flight operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, clear communication, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist customers, passengers, and crew with professionalism and courtesy.
Coordinate all operational and ground handling services for arriving and departing aircraft.
Manage flight schedules, handling requests, and slot bookings using OCS.
Send movement (MVT) messages and ensure accurate operational updates.
Arrange and monitor fuel requirements and liaise with external suppliers.
Maintain and update schedules in ACIPS and CHROMA.
Upload immigration documentation via EGAR as required.
Prepare and process client invoices using XERO.
Organize crew transport and hospitality services.
Ensure the facility is maintained to high standards.
Communicate effectively via email, phone, and radio to support operational flow.
Anticipate and resolve operational issues promptly.
Support additional tasks and projects as directed by the Operations Manager.
Qualifications and Competencies:
Valid, full UK driving licence required.
Flexible and available to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and adherence to procedures.
Ability to perform effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Confident using computers and operational software systems.
Previous experience in customer service is essential; aviation experience is preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Education & Experience:
Education in Aviation, Business Administration, Customer Service or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 1 years' experience in FBO operations, flight coordination, or similar aviation role.
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AOPA, IATA) are an advantage.
Work Environment:
This is a dynamic, fast-paced position requiring flexibility, precision, and strong communication skills. You'll work in a 24/7 operational setting, including irregular hours, weekends, and holidays, to support flight schedules and customer requirements.
