The Role

As Operations Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and safe running of all production activities. You will lead our manufacturing operations, optimise processes, and support our growth by driving performance, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of all production and operations functions. Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with organisational goals. Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with company policies. Lead, motivate, and supervise departmental managers and teams to achieve performance targets. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational effectiveness. Coordinate cross-functional activities to optimise workflow and resource utilisation. Foster a culture of continuous improvement through innovative practices and staff development programmes. Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations across all operational areas.

About You

Proven track record in a senior Production, Operations, or Manufacturing Management role, ideally within joinery, timber, fire doors, or related manufacturing. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and influence teams. In-depth understanding of production planning, process optimisation, and quality assurance. Experience implementing Lean/CI methodologies. A hands-on, solutions-focused leader with excellent organisational skills. Comfortable working in a fast-growing business and contributing at strategic level.
