The Hospitality Team a dynamic and growing business with multiple catering and event contracts is seeking an experienced
Food & Beverage / Operations & Events Manager
to oversee one of our flagship contracts at
Winslade Manor
.
This is a hands-on operational role focused on
delivering exceptional banqueting and events
, working closely with the Managing Director and the client's Operations Manager to ensure outstanding service, efficient planning, and smooth day-to-day operations. Onsite there is a week day restaurant service and a cafe, this role will include overseeing at the direction of these two sub contracts that we offer.
It's a great opportunity for a professional with strong organisational and people skills who takes pride in service excellence and enjoys managing live events from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
1. Event Delivery & Planning
Manage and deliver all contracted weddings, conferences, and private events to the highest standard.
Liaise closely with the client's events and operations team to plan logistics, timings, and service delivery.
Oversee setup, service, and breakdown for all events, ensuring seamless execution.
Coordinate across departments (kitchen, service, logistics) to ensure efficiency and communication.
2. Operational Leadership
Lead by example during events, maintaining excellent customer service and staff morale.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
Manage staffing levels and rotas in line with event requirements.
3. Financial Oversight
Support P&L management by controlling labour, stock, and operational costs.
Monitor event profitability through efficient planning and delivery.
4. Team Management
Recruit, train, and motivate casual and full-time team members.
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and pride in performance.
5. Customer Experience
Act as the main operational point of contact during events.
Handle guest and client feedback professionally, ensuring continuous improvement.
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who:
Has proven experience in events, banqueting, or hospitality operations.
Thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
Is an excellent communicator and calm under pressure.
Has strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Is based locally (Exeter / EX area) and available for key event days (especially weekends).
