We have an opportunity for a Skilled Operative to join our Operations Team at Fletchers Bakeries which forms part of our Northern Cluster.



Our Fletchers bakery has over 125 years of baking tradition, with our Kara bakery supplying delicious wholesale bakery products for over 35 years starting with the first floured bap. Both have been part of the Finsbury Food Group since 2014. Fletchers Bakery can trace its roots back to 1895 and both bakeries portfolio of products have risen to include gourmet brioche, traditional sliced bread, bloomer breads and vegan and gluten free options, to name a but a few.



The Skilled Operative will work as part of the Production Team coordinating activities within the designated area. These activities will be designed to ensure the efficient and safe manufacture of the finished product to the correct specification, maintaining the highest standards of quality throughout. As a key member of the production team, you will work collaboratively to meet daily plant production targets. You will play a vital role in maintaining efficiency and safety standards, ensuring our products meet customer expectations.



This is what you'll actually do!

In this role, you will support your team with your knowledge and experience to ensure smooth line operations. You will monitor product quality at every stage, making adjustments where necessary to achieve zero customer complaints. You will ensure compliance with technical specifications, plant setup, and quality assurance processes so that performance and product standards are consistently maintained. You will also lead the efficient setup of machinery during production start-ups and product changeovers, helping to reduce downtime and meet specification targets.



Maintaining high standards of hygiene and housekeeping will be a core part of your daily routine to ensure a safe and clean working environment. You will strictly adhere to health and safety practices, promoting safe behaviours and aiming for zero accidents. As part of your development, you will actively take part in training opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge. You will carry out any additional duties as required to support production needs and contribute to the overall success of the team.



Ideally this is you!

Previous experience in a similar manufacturing or production environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships. Confident communicator at all levels. Proactive, results-driven mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Basic reading, writing, numeracy, and computer literacy skills.
