Job Description

We are recruiting an experienced Operations Manager to take full ownership of a busy Transport and Warehouse operation at Birmingham (BHX), including a CAA-regulated site and ETSF facility.

This is a hands-on leadership role, reporting to the Operations Director, with responsibility for the day-to-day performance, compliance and profitability of the operation, managing a team of around 40 staff.

Key Responsibilities:
- Full day-to-day management of transport, warehouse and ETSF operations
- Ensure compliance with Aviation Security, Customs, Bonded and ETSF regulations
- Lead and manage drivers, warehouse staff, office and ETSF admin teams
- Set, manage and report on KPIs, margins and budgets
- Plan and utilise vehicles efficiently and profitably
- Ensure Working Time Directive and driver hours compliance
- Drive continuous improvement and operational change
- Oversee pricing, job completion and invoicing
- Resolve operational and customer escalations
- Identify load-sharing and back-load opportunities
- Manage HR processes including absence, performance and engagement
- Step in to cover resourcing gaps where required

About You:
- Proven experience managing teams in a transport and warehouse environment
- ETSF and/or regulated site experience highly desirable
- Strong compliance and operational knowledge
- Budgeting and KPI management experience
- Confident people manager with a hands-on approach
- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
- Flexible to work earlies, evenings and bank holidays when the business demands

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 45,000.00-48,000.00 per year
