Job Description

Congleton Garden Machinery, founded in 1989, is a well-established and expanding retail business headquartered in Congleton, Cheshire. Internationally recognised for selling and hiring out horticultural, farming, forestry, equestrian, construction and all-terrain vehicle (quad bike) equipment and parts.

CGM offers in excess of 750k unique products across two core website (www.mowersplus.co.uk)

The Role:-


We are looking for an

Operations Manager

who can oversee our daily business functions, ensure efficiencies through our operational departments and improve processes and quality control.

Key Responsibilities:



Oversee our parts, office and workshop facilities to ensure the smooth running of operations Design, implement and monitor processes to maximise efficiencies, productivity and profitability Ensure that all business processes are followed in a timely manner to ensure a steady workflow Strategic planning and policy implementation to improve quality control Ensure industry/business standards and health and safety practices are maintained at all times Monitoring performance against KPI's/ targets and taking appropriate action when required Building and maintaining strong working relationships with all staff members Contribution towards goal setting and business planning Oversee purchasing, inventory control and maintenance of stock levels Working with Finance and Marketing Manager towards overall business development Use of Continuous improvement/Kaizen principles to drive operations forward

We are Looking For:



Relevant Qualification in Business development & Administration Strong Leadership and people management skills Proven history in business development and managing a team to drive performance Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, skilled at building rapport with team members A confident leader who can keep staff members focused on achieving company targets Good analytical skills to track targets and performance Strategic thinking to develop operational practices within the business that align with business goals Problem solving and decision-making skills Experience of business IT systems and Microsoft office suite Excellent organisational and time keeping skills, strong work ethic
