Job Title: Operations Manager - Dental Group
Reports to: Operations Director
Location: Head Office & Field-Based (Travel to Sites as Required)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of multiple dental practices within our group. The role will involve close collaboration with Practice Managers to ensure smooth, efficient, and profitable site operations. The successful candidate will be required to travel to practices as and when needed, supporting local teams, resolving issues, and driving business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Practice Operations
Oversee day-to-day running of practices to ensure smooth operations and excellent patient experience.
Visit sites regularly as required to support local teams and resolve operational issues.
Ensure practices are well-staffed, organised, and working in line with business goals.
Work with Practice Managers to implement company-wide systems and processes consistently across all locations.
Performance Monitoring & Improvement
Monitor and improve practice performance across key metrics: UDA delivery, private income, book utilisation, and cost efficiency.
Provide structured feedback to Practice Managers and set action plans for underperforming sites.
Collaborate with Finance and HR to analyse trends and support business decision-making.
Team Support & Leadership
Support and develop Practice Managers through coaching and regular communication.
Assist in recruiting and onboarding new managers and team members where required.
Step in with hands-on support when sites are short-staffed or facing urgent issues.
Promote a high-performance culture focused on accountability, service, and professionalism.
Facilities & Resources
Ensure all practices are fully operational, clean, well-maintained, and compliant with company standards.
Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to manage repairs, maintenance, and equipment upgrades.
Support refurbishments and practice improvement projects in coordination with the Operations Director.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with internal departments including:
o Compliance - liaise with the Compliance Manager to align on inspection readiness and safety standards.
o HR - support staff-related matters and workforce planning.
o Finance - review practice budgets, variances, and forecasts.
o IT and Marketing - support technology and promotional rollouts across sites.
Requirements:
Proven experience in multi-site operations, ideally within a dental or healthcare environment.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Results-driven with a focus on efficiency, service delivery, and business performance.
Flexible and willing to travel to sites as and when required.
Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
Confident using practice management systems SOE and MS Office.
Desirable:
Background in dental or clinical environments.
Experience managing practice refurbishments or business change projects.
Working knowledge of NHS dental contract structures.
What We Offer:
Travel expenses when travelling only to sites from Head Office at 0.45p per mile. You will need access to your own vehicle.
