The Opportunity



We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Lead to join our growing team. This role will support the service teams in delivering a high standard within the pharmaceutical construction sector. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for overseeing operational performance and ensuring that services are delivered in compliance.

You will play a key role in shaping how services are delivered, supporting teams, strengthening client relationships, and driving consistent, predictable outcomes across a complex and highly regulated environment.

This role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to analyse and improve operational workflows in a dynamic environment.

Services currently span UK wide and overseas, therefore travel away from the office base is a regular requirement

Key Responsibilities:



Plan, direct, and coordinate operational activities across departments to ensure smooth and efficient business functioning

Promote business culture, ensuring core values are embedded in service delivery

Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices

Manage and mentor operations staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance

Monitor KPIs and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions

Collaborate with senior leadership on forecasting, and resource allocation

Ensure service compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements relevant to the industry

Oversee supply chain, inventory management, and vendor relationships as applicable

Lead or support services aimed at improving productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction

Prepare and present operational reports to senior management

Resolve operational issues promptly and efficiently

About You



Skills and Knowledge



Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or an Engineering Discipline

5+ years of experience in operations management or a similar role

Proven track record of managing teams and delivering operational improvements

Strong understanding of budgeting, financial management, and performance metrics

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Knowledge of UK health, safety, and regulatory standards

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure

Preferred Experience:



Experience of managing construction projects in the pharmaceutical industry

Essential



Qualifications



Relevant degree or professional qualification in Construction Management or an engineering discipline

Experience



Proven experience in an operations management or similar role

Experience managing teams and operational budgets

Track record of improving operational efficiency and delivering KPIs

Knowledge



Strong understanding of operational processes and supply chain management

Knowledge of health and safety regulations

Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting and financial management

Chartered membership of an industry-recognised professional body

Experience and Knowledge



Experience in pharmaceutical and life sciences

Experience with Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies

Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance

Experience with project management software

Strategic thinking and planning capabilities

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Willingness to travel nationally or internationally, if required

6,000.00 car allowance per annum
