The opportunity has arisen for a Level 4

Operations Manager

to support the delivery of strategic and operational services in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences. The role will be based in the school of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) and will include the leadership and management of administrative staff, support School priorities and managing the provision of strategic support to the Head of School and senior colleagues. The position is part of the

Faculty Operating Service (FOS)

which works in partnership with the academic community, other professional services and the wider University community to support Faculties across the triple helix of education, research and enterprise.


The role reports directly to the Senior Operations Manager and is part of the FEPS Operations Manager group who work collaboratively as a team to support our Schools and Faculty.


The

Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences

is at the forefront of research across all its disciplines, has an active knowledge exchange and enterprise ecosystem and a mission to provide exceptional education that prepares the next generation of engineers and scientists to tackle global challenges through collaboration with industry and research institutions.


As the leader of administrative services within the School and key business partner to the Head of School, this role requires a self-motivated and proactive individual to provide operational direction, oversight of School-specific projects and management of busy administrative workloads.


The successful candidate will have:

Experience of leading, managing and building administration teams, coordinating resources and requirements, ensuring that effective and proactive support is provided as standard The ability to review and refine administrative processes and deliver innovative solutions to problems. A proven track record of providing high-level strategic support to senior managers, and providing management of operations, planning, and business-critical projects. Excellent communication skills; personal agility; time management skills; and the ability to build strong credible relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
