We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic candidate to work collaboratively with the existing team and bring new ideas to the Juniors department. You will be methodical and well organised and not afraid to develop new ways of working. Sound judgment is key along with the confidence to make the right decisions under pressure.
You will have previous experience within the ELT sector, managing Junior residential summer courses, and the ability to manage and coordinate activities and staff accordingly. You will have a strong understanding of safeguarding. Experience as a DSP would be advantageous in order to uphold our procedures and policies as well as offer support line managers.
You will play a lead role in helping to develop both existing and futures courses, activities and initiatives.
Salary: 29,466.65 per annum (35,360 per annum pro rata)
Contract: Permanent
Location: Brighton and/or flexible working from outside of operational period/s. Office based in Brighton 2 days per week.
During the operational period/s you must be available to travel between the centres and airports/terminals.
Working Day: September to December - 2.5 days a week.
January to August - 5 days week.
6 days a week during operational periods.
Usual working hours are Monday - Friday from 9am to 5.30pm GMT.
The Role
The Operations Manager works closely with the Director of Juniors and other HO Operations staff and, together, they hold responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of the Juniors division and its operational activities, this includes the St Giles Juniors residential centres and the St Giles Family Courses.
Operations Managers are part of the group's middle management team and are accountable for delivering an outstanding social programme as well as playing an active role in the success of all aspects of the Juniors and Family programmes. The Operations Manager reports to the Director of St Giles Juniors who is based in the Brighton office. They will be supported through regular weekly meetings.
Experience and Qualifications required for the role
? proven project management skills
? considerable experience in the ELT/Juniors sector working in a language school/summer camp
? highly organised with a strong attention to detail
? strong communication/customer service skills
? Able to work in a very high-pressure environment
? flexible and able to deal with last minute changes
? able to use their own initiative as well as being a good team player
? CELTA or equivalent and above and relevant EFL teaching experience (Preferred)
