, producing high-integrity, compliant and reliable vehicles used nationwide. We are a fast-growing, hands-on team, and we're looking for an experienced Operations Manager to drive performance, quality, and customer satisfaction.
The Role: Operations Manager (Exeter)
You will have
full operational leadership
of our Exeter Vehicle Conversion Centre, overseeing workshop staff, mobile engineers, supervisors, build schedules, compliance, quality control, safety standards, documentation and client communication.
This is a senior role with full responsibility for branch operational performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & People Management
Lead and manage all Exeter engineers and workshop staff.
Drive a high-performance culture; monitor performance daily (90% KPI).
Deliver company policies, conduct processes, and maintain staff standards.
Operational Delivery
Oversee timely, compliant and high-quality conversion work.
Manage workflows, workshop loading, and production scheduling.
Ensure all vehicles meet manufacturer requirements and blue-light specifications.
Maintain all necessary compliance and build documentation.
Quality, Compliance & Safety
Work with the Health & Safety Manager to maintain safe working practices.
Oversee site and vehicle security processes.
Lead quality control of all builds produced in Exeter.
Documentation & Build Management
Compile build specifications, BOMs, and supporting documentation.
Monitor labour hours, materials, compliance, and job value accuracy.
Lead post-build review meetings to continually improve output and efficiency.
Client & Commercial Responsibilities
Attend client build meetings; produce supporting specifications and BOMs.
Convert quotation information into workshop-ready build documents.
Report on resold labour and staff performance to Director level.
Additional Responsibilities
Conduct interviews and performance appraisals.
Support purchasing with specialist or one-off parts.
Cover Workshop Supervisor administration during absence.
Desirable Experience
Previous blue-light / emergency vehicle conversion experience
Workshop or operations management background
CAD experience for equipment or mounting design
Strong understanding of engineering, safety and compliance standards
