We're looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at PolyBitumens. This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, maintaining compliance, and delivering exceptional service to our customers. You'll work closely with internal teams and external partners to plan production, manage logistics, and drive continuous improvement.
Duties
Safety Leadership
Champion Health, Safety & Environmental standards across the site.
Ensure compliance with Permit to Work policies and emergency preparedness.
Lead incident investigations and maintain robust operating procedures.
Operational Excellence
Plan and coordinate production workloads to meet customer demand.
Manage raw material supply and transport requirements.
Develop short- and medium-term forecasts for materials and haulage.
Troubleshoot process issues and oversee maintenance requests.
Quality & Compliance
Deliver the Quality Plan and support internal/external audits.
Ensure delivery of on-spec bitumen, on time, every time.
Collate and analyse operational data for reporting and decision-making
Customer Service & Team Leadership
Act as a key contact for customers, resolving issues promptly.
Build strong relationships with third parties and stakeholders.
Lead and motivate a team of supervisors and seasonal operatives.
Promote knowledge sharing and a culture of continuous improvement.
Person Specification
Strong operational background, ideally in production or process environments.
Experience managing logistics and supply chain planning.
Excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
IT proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite; SAP experience desirable).
Ability to prioritise workload and respond effectively in routine and emergency situations.
Driving licence essential.
Desirable:
A-levels or ONC/D standard (or equivalent).
Understanding of Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.
Experience with audits and incident control.

Hours: Full Time - 40 - Monday to Friday
