Operations Manager - Full time - Permanent - up to 45,000 (Mon to Fri)



The Operations Manager will oversee the smooth and effective operation of all departments, ensuring high-quality service delivery and a safe, inclusive environment for trainees, staff, and volunteers.

You will work closely with our CEO, leading and supporting staff teams, managing resources, ensuring compliance, and helping shape the future of our growing organisation. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining strategic oversight with daily operational management.

This role would suit candidates who can demonstrate meaningful experience in leading and developing others and has experience of working with adults with disabilities, organising and coordinating work activities / projects and manage budgets and day to day financial matters.

Key Responsibilities



Leadership & Management

Supervise staff and volunteers daily across Services and Welfare departments. Conduct annual appraisals with each team member. Plan and coordinate team and individual training activities and courses. Facilitate regular team development sessions. Implement safeguarding practices as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, including completing required documentation and training. Manage and oversee the Welfare Department's support, safeguarding, and advocacy activities for trainees.
Service Delivery & Quality

Monitor and review service delivery standards for all trainees. Collaborate with trainers and activity staff to design and implement engaging, person-centred programs. Complete and update individual support plans, risk assessments, and progress reviews for trainees. Organise activities that promote inclusion, independence, and personal growth for trainees. Conduct regular quality audits of service delivery and learning activities, and implement improvements based on audit findings.
Finance & Resources

Monitor and manage resource usage across the centre to ensure efficiency and value for money. Track and report on expenditure and budgets regularly. Review expenses and purchases to ensure value for money and cost-effectiveness. Prepare and submit financial reports as required.
Stakeholder & Community Engagement

Build and maintain relationships with trainees, parents/carers, commissioners, and external partners. Represent CASE at community meetings, events, and networking opportunities. Organise and support fundraising and promotional activities, including open days, exhibitions, and anniversary events.
Governance & Reporting

Prepare and submit regular operational, performance, and outcome reports to the CEO and Board of Trustees. Monitor individual staff performance against agreed objectives and provide feedback. Design operational plans to implement the organisation's strategy and objectives. Participate in strategic planning and organisational development meetings. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and quality standards at all times.

Essential Requirements



Proven experience in a leadership/management role within education, social care, charity, or community services. Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities. Strong organisational and operational management skills. Experience of managing and motivating teams. Must have financial and budget experience (e.g., monitoring expenditure, reporting, resource management). Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage trainees, staff, carers, and external partners. Knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, and compliance requirements. Knowledge of commissioning and local authority processes. Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. Relevant qualification in management, social care, education, or related field. Experience as a safeguarding designated lead.

Desirable Requirements



Experience of working within the charity or voluntary sector. Experience of fundraising, income generation, or partnership development. Knowledge of regional/national learning disability networks and best practice. Experience of leading organisational change or development projects.

Additional Information



The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. The role requires flexibility, with occasional evening or weekend work to support events and activities. May be required to work across multiple sites. Annual leave entitlement: 36 Days per year including Bank Holidays, 20 days floating the remainer to be saved for Easter & Christmas shutdowns.
