Operations Manager - Leicester
We are looking for a
hands-on Operations Manager
to run the day-to-day operations of a busymanufacturing and distribution site in Leicester
.This role is ideal for someone who has progressed through
production, warehouse, or supervisory roles
and is now ready to takefull ownership of a site
, with support from a wider group structure.You will be responsible for
people, output, standards, and delivery
, ensuring the site operatessafely, efficiently, and to plan
.Key Responsibilities Day-to-Day Site Operations
Manage daily operations across
production, warehouse, and dispatch
Ensuredaily output targets
are consistently achieved Monitorworkflow, labour allocation, and operational priorities
Leaddaily briefings
andend-of-shift handovers
Production & Warehouse Control
Oversee
inbound goods, production flow, packing, and dispatch
Maintainstock accuracy, WIP control, and housekeeping standards
Identify operationalbottlenecks
and implement practical improvements Ensurespace is used efficiently and safely
People Management
Supervise
team leaders and operators
on site Set clear expectations aroundattendance, quality, and productivity
Supporttraining, on boarding, and performance management
Escalate issues early anddeal with problems decisively
Process & Continuous Improvement
Follow and enforce
standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Suggest and implement improvements toreduce waste and rework
Support the rollout ofnew processes and systems
Maintainclear visual controls
and basicoperational KPIs
Health & Safety
Ensure the site operates
safely and compliantly
EnforceH&S rules, PPE usage, and good housekeeping
Supportrisk assessments
andaccident reporting
Communication & Reporting
Provide
daily and weekly operational updates
Liaise withgroup teams
on planning, stock, and performance Act as themain operational point of contact
for the Leicester siteCandidate Profile Essential
Experience in a
manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment
Previous responsibility forpeople, shifts, or operational areas
Confidentleading from the front
on the shop floor Organised, reliable, and comfortablemaking decisions
Strong work ethic with apractical, no-nonsense approach
Desirable
Experience in
automotive, engineering, or re-manufacturing
Previousstep-up role
from Supervisor or Team Leader Basic understanding ofstock control and KPIs
Forklift
or similar operational experienceJob Type: Full-time
Pay: 35,000.00-37,500.00 per year
