GSC Ltd is a dynamic and growing transport and logistics company dedicated to delivering reliable, efficient, and customer-focused services across LN & PE 20-25 Post-code sectors for the UPN pallet network and The APC Parcel network, With a strong reputation for excellence, we are now looking for a proactive and experienced Operations Manager to lead our day-to-day operations and drive continuous improvement across the business.

The Role:

As Operations Manager, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of our transport operations. You'll lead a team of drivers, dispatchers, and support staff to ensure high service standards, safety compliance, and operational efficiency. This is a key leadership role with a strong emphasis on people management, logistics planning, and process optimisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage daily transport operations, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries. Lead and motivate a team of drivers and operations staff, ensuring performance targets are met. Monitor fleet utilisation, route planning, and fuel efficiency. Ensure compliance with transport regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies. Collaborate with other departments to meet customer requirements and improve service delivery. Implement and track KPIs to drive performance and reduce operational costs. Identify areas for process improvement and lead change initiatives. Manage budgets and provide regular performance reports to senior management.

Requirements:

Proven experience in a transport, logistics, or fleet operations management role.Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams.Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.Sound understanding of transport regulations and compliance requirements.Proficiency with transport management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Experience managing HGV or multi-drop delivery operations.
