Innovex Science Limited, a sister company of Inter Scientific, is a newly established UK company focused on developing innovative nicotine products that bridge consumer and medicinal markets. We are currently seeking our first hire - a dynamic, driven, and responsible individual to take on the role of Operations Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a company from the ground up. The successful candidate will work closely with the company founders and draw on support from our sister company, Inter Scientific, to lead and manage the development and production of novel nicotine pouches manufactured in Liverpool.
Innovex is developing a consumer-facing product to generate early insights and build brand awareness, alongside a regulated medicinal product to support smoking cessation. Both product lines will share a commitment to innovation, quality, and regulatory excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day operations of the business, including planning, procurement, production, and fulfilment
- Manage the development of novel nicotine pouch formulations, including sourcing raw materials and working with flavour and packaging partners
- Oversee initial manufacturing activities using in-house equipment (filling machine, mixing vessel, blister packer)
- Coordinate packaging development including wallet-sized blister packs or other novel formats
- Liaise with regulatory consultants and testing laboratories to support compliance for both consumer and medicinal product pathways
- Manage supplier relationships and production scheduling
- Support website fulfilment and customer order processes during initial launch phase
- Contribute to hiring and onboarding of future operational and commercial staff
Key Skills and Competencies:
Strong operational and organisational capabilities, with proven ability to manage complex workflows and deadlines
Practical understanding of manufacturing processes, quality assurance, and supply chain logistics
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with minimal supervision
High attention to detail and commitment to quality, especially in regulated product development
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across teams and external partners
Competence with project management tools and basic data analysis (Excel, inventory systems, etc.)
Interest in health-focused consumer products, nicotine science, or regulated industries is advantageous
Required Experience:
Prior experience in operations, production or supply chain management (start-up or FMCG environment preferred)
Experience in regulated sectors (nicotine, pharmaceuticals, supplements, food, or cosmetics) is an advantage
Highly organised, proactive and confident managing multiple priorities
Familiarity with manufacturing and quality control principles
Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced team with evolving responsibilities
Compensation:
- Up to 40,000 per annum plus pension and NI contributions
- Based in Liverpool
- Opportunity for growth into a senior leadership position as the company scales
This is a unique chance to build something new with purpose. If you're looking to join a science-led, mission-driven business at an early stage, we'd love to hear from you.
