CCP Building Products is a well-established manufacturer within the construction industry, committed to producing high-quality concrete products across multiple sites in the North-West. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day to day running of the production facility.
This role holds overall responsibility for all shift and day personnel, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the production plant and associated services. Working in close collaboration with the Regional Operations Manager and Head of Commercial, the Operations Manager plays a critical role in delivering products that meet defined standards of quality and quantity.
Key Responsibilities
Health and Safety
Proactively manage the health and safety performance and behaviours of your team and contractors to continuously improve safety practices and standard
Effectively and clearly communicate toolbox talks and serious event reviews to direct reports to ensure they are fully understood by your teams
Manage the risk assessments within the department, cascading the departmental task list to increase the drive for safety and environmental competence within the production team
Ensure environmental procedures are followed by the production team and any incidents are reported effectively to the relevant stakeholders
Ensure safety conversations and HiRE observations are completed and recorded
Performance
Plan, schedule and coordinate the stages of production and produce accordingly to the production plan
Coordinate and drive daily plant performance reviews and on a weekly basis manage the operational resources
Take ownership for the continuous improvement of plant performance and reliability, through the introduction of new projects
Ensure the achievement of monthly and annual production targets by developing the production shift team to enhance plant performance
Reliability
Prepare for major repairs by developing the scope of work, managing tenders, preparing budgets, creating job plans, and establishing best practices and safe working procedures for all tasks
Operate an effective first level inspection programme and a planned preventative maintenance schedule, continuously developing and recommending improvements
People
Effectively manage shift and day personnel by holding regular team meetings, to promote a culture of engagement and motivation
Effectively cascade central and local communications throughout the department
Proactively manage the material handling contract team to increase effectiveness and productivity
Costs
Take ownership of the in-bound raw materials to enable them to be managed in line with the plant portfolio so that any cost impact from the process can be minimised
Ensure that the physical inventory on site is managed so that performance and costs can be tracked efficiently
Qualifications
Relevant engineering or technical qualifications including 3/5 years operational experience
NEBOSH certificate would be desirable
Management qualification would be advantageous
Experience & Technical Knowledge
Comprehensive understanding of safety procedures and leads by example in relation to safety standards
Experience of managing a manufacturing function
Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence others
Excellent planning and scheduling skills, to manage a range of priorities
Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.)
Knowledge of Planned Preventative Maintenance systems and procedures
Good technical understanding of high volume production plant and equipment

Pay: 48,000.00-53,000.00 per year
