Moffat Medical Practice is seeking an experienced and highly motivated

Operations Manager to join our friendly and established team. This is an

excellent opportunity to take on a key leadership role within a supportive,

modern primary care environment.

About the Practice

Moffat Medical Practice is a semi-rural GP practice caring for around 5,000 patients. We work closely with our sister practice in Lochmaben and are a dedicated team of five GP Partners, supported by an experienced Business Manager who leads on finance and strategic development.

The practice recently relocated to a modern, purpose-built site within Moffat Hospital and also operates a remote dispensing surgery in Leadhills.

Role and Responsibilities

. Effective day-to-day operational management of the practice

. Oversight of HR processes, including recruitment and staff support

. Ensuring compliance with contractual, governance, and regulatory requirements

. Premises management including Heath and Safety

. Supporting service delivery and quality improvement initiatives

Liaising with patients, partners, staff, and external stakeholders

. Providing occasional cross-cover at our Lochmaben site during unexpected absence

. No financial responsibilities

Person Specification

. Previous management or supervisory experience

. Experience within NHS General Practice

. Knowledge of Health and Safety, including application of Risk Management Assessments

. Knowledge of HR procedures and employment legislation

. Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills

. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Further Information

Hours: 30 per week (flexible working pattern considered)

Start date: Feb-Mar 2026

Salary: 35,000-45,000pa FTE dependent on experience
