We're now seeking a
dynamic and hands-on Operations Manager
to lead our day-to-day operations and support the strategic development of the business. This is a diverse and rewarding role, perfect for someone who thrives on variety, loves problem-solving, and enjoys working as part of a passionate team.
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks while maintaining operational excellence and a great customer experience.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee and coordinate the daily running of the site, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across all areas.
Be the first point of contact for staff queries, customer issues, and operational decisions.
Maintain communication between departments and with the senior team.
Ensure all activities align with company policies, industry regulations, and Need Golf's values.
Staff Management & Communication
Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Deliver clear weekly and daily communications to the team (via WhatsApp, task lists, meetings).
Lead or assist in staff onboarding, rotas, holidays, sign-offs, and training programmes.
Help maintain team morale, cleanliness standards, and workplace culture.
Events, Projects & Customer Experience
Support the planning and delivery of events and promotions, working closely with directors.
Take ownership of topical and seasonal project work across the business.
Contribute to customer service improvement by identifying and addressing improvement points.
Support in communicating mass emails, newsletters, and marketing campaigns.
Finance, KPI Monitoring & Reporting
Oversee and review cash-ups.
Report operational KPIs and performance to directors on a regular basis.
Take responsibility for ensuring
key performance indicators are actively tracked, understood, and met
, using these insights to drive improvements and guide decision-making.
Oversee inventory management, supply chain logistics, and quality control processes.
Input into pricing, voucher management, margins, and forecasting.
Facilities, Health & Safety
Maintain site cleanliness and functionality through regular checks and contractor coordination.
Lead on risk assessments, compliance policies (fire, lone working, etc.), and food hygiene logs.
Support stock management, servicing, and inventory across equipment, F&B, and merchandise.
Oversee minor DIY/maintenance tasks and callouts.
Marketing & Community
Assist with social media, promotions, and community engagement efforts.
Represent the brand with a welcoming, solution-focused approach in all public-facing situations.
Requirements
Proven experience in an operations management or similar role within hospitality, leisure, events, or retail.
Strong leadership abilities with excellent interpersonal skills to manage teams effectively.
Excellent organisational and communication skills (written and verbal).
Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Experience monitoring and acting on KPIs and performance data.
Tech-savvy; comfortable using spreadsheets, booking systems, and performance tools
Previous experience of over 5 years in leadership and operations management.
