OPERATIONS MANAGER




Salary: 34,000 per annum depending on experience




Working Hours: Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 17:30pm




Location: Hellesdon Hospital, Norwich, NR6 5BE with travel to other sites






G4S Facilities Management are looking for an Operations Manager to join our team, primarily based at Hellesdon Hospital in Norwich, with required travel to multiple associated sites. This is a full-time, opportunity where you will be fully responsible for ensuring service delivery to the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust remains strictly within both contractual parameters and the defined G4S budget




Core Responsibilities




Financial Performance




Support the Contract Manager (CM) and Supervisors in maintaining systems and policies necessary for full adherence to company, mandatory, and statutory fiscal processes. Take robust financial and commercial ownership of Locality budgets, maximizing profitability while minimizing commercial risk to G4S. Actively seek and implement savings where feasible. Manage expenditure and income within defined budgets to maximize profitability while consistently delivering high-quality service.

Operational Management




Ensure prompt, high-quality service delivery that meets established company standards and achieves customer satisfaction. Guarantee total compliance with all G4S minimum standards, corporate policies, and procedures, including achieving and maintaining ISO 9001:2000 compliance. Manage and motivate operational staff by clearly communicating and demonstrating best practice, reinforcing systems, and providing strong, sound leadership. Work effectively with other G4S managers and relevant client management to ensure excellent communication and the seamless, coordinated operation of all services

Health, Safety, and Security (HSE)




Perpetuate a culture committed to meeting all statutory and corporate HSE requirements, maintaining safe and secure working environments for all. Responsible for strictly adhering to the Health & Safety Policy and procedures; actively identify and report breaches (including PPE non-compliance or unsafe practices) and act accordingly. Ensure the security of all establishment equipment and recommend improvements to existing security practices where appropriate.

Human Resources and Team Development




Build a highly motivated and professional team through excellent leadership, effective use of training, and active development of operational staff. Maintain an overview of resource utilisation to ensure staff are deployed efficiently and effectively to meet customer requirements. Manage employee welfare, ensuring the business operates within all relevant legislation and to required business standards. Manage staff sickness and absence in line with company procedures, including carrying out mandatory return-to-work interviews. Promote the highest standards of customer care, monitor service quality through regular departmental visits, and ensure all relevant information is processed and disseminated accurately and in a timely manner.

Client Management & Relationships




Proactively manage customer relationships to ensure contractual requirements are not just met, but consistently exceeded.


To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:




Proven experience managing staff and services within a complex NHS environment Strong commercial awareness with a clear understanding of budgetary ownership and a drive to achieve positive financial outcomes Demonstrated experience overseeing operations across multiple sites/localities Exceptional ability to motivate and organise teams effectively to meet operational objectives Maintains a flexible and adaptable approach to work, able to navigate changing priorities Proven track record of working openly and collaboratively with staff and stakeholders at all organisational levels Full driving licence
