The Role
Due to ongoing company growth, we are now recruiting for an Operations Manager. This role is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the operational success of JTM Service, supporting the smooth running of Service, Supply and installation of laundry and dishwashing equipment. The Operations Manager will help ensure the maintenance and service of laundry equipment in commercial and industrial settings, including care homes, hospitals, sports clubs, hotels, and more.
You will be reporting into the Operations Director and supporting the Operations Team by resolving issues, service desk, customer enquiries and suppliers. This is a key role that ensures that our equipment remains safe, efficient, and compliant.
Key Responsibilities
Managing Operations
: Manage daily tasks to keep the Service & Installation departments running smoothly, including monitoring performance, assisting the Service and Installation desks with parts and survey queries.
Efficiency Management
: Assist the Service & Installation desks, support our Harvested Parts Scheme, monitoring parts orders and ensure timely ordering to keep stores & engineers stock levels in check to avoid downtime.
Troubleshooting
: Collaborating with the Head Technical Engineer, Senior Engineers, and the Service/Installation teams to identify and resolve issues.
Customer & Supplier Relations
: Liaise with customers and key suppliers to support timely service calls and spare part deliveries, build strong working relationships, and ensure minimal disruption to operations.
Culture champion
: Empower the team by following our Heart, Drive and Integrity values, nurturing our commitment to world-class service excellence, fostering a culture of continuous growth and collaboration.
Process Improvement
: Work alongside our Service Desk, Head Technical Engineer, Senior Engineers and Operations Director to suggest improvements and streamline processes for greater efficiency.
Fleet management:
Managing the company fleet making sure vehicles have recovery in place, are serviced, have valid insurance & MOT certificates, and book repairs in as needed.
Reporting
: Generate, and analyse reports on performance, parts usage, and operational issues to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Analyse information to improve workforce productivity, reduce downtime, streamline parts management, and enhance overall operational effectiveness.
Essential
Practical knowledge in an engineering background, with an understanding of electrical engineering, ventilation, plumbing, drainage and scheduled maintenance to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and engineering scheduling systems.
A proactive attitude with a passion for problem solving, team building and customer service.
Ability to manage quick decision making.
Nice to haves
Experience in an operational management role is preferred, but not essential. Training will be provided.
Awareness of BS8446:2020 Installation and maintenance of open-flued, non-domestic gas-fired laundry appliance regulations.
Understanding of Commercial Laundry & Dishwashing machinery and maintenance procedures.
