As an Operations Manager, you will focus primarily on providing exceptional people leadership to the Utility Accounting Team along with facilitating day to day tasks and activities. You will be overseeing the output of Analytics and Reporting and ensuring positive relationships between both internal and external stakeholders are fostered, managed and maintained. This role requires an experienced and adaptable leader who not only has the vision for driving progressive change but can consistently deliver results whilst setting new benchmarks for operational efficiency.

Without careful management, energy cost can quickly impact a customer's bottom line. This role and the Utility Accounting team will be working with our customers to help them develop their budget strategies, and set their budgets, to ensure they remain on target. The Operations Manager will also be responsible for delivering monthly cost and consumption reporting, validating supplier invoices and managing queries to resolution.




This is a 6-month fixed term contract.

What will you be doing?





Effectively manage the performance of the Utility Accounting team, including its adherence to relevant Service Level Agreements and Quality Assurance standards. Maintaining ownership of the output from Analytics and Reporting and working with the Team Lead to support where required and address any escalations. Oversight and delivery of all service deliverables including invoice validation, client reporting, annual capacity reviews, tenant recharges, payment reports, accruals and budgets in line with agreed strategy and client SLAs. Train, coach and develop team members as required to maximise competence, potential and performance whilst supporting succession planning. This includes the development of training plans, onboarding plans for new starters and skills mapping where necessary. Engaging with the Talent function to hire exceptional new talent into the team whenever there is a need to do so. Actively promote a culture that delivers high performance, motivation and engagement through effective leadership. Identify any shortfalls in productivity and address to cover required output. Stakeholder management including participation in meetings, workshops, and governance forums as required. Identify and resolve incidents and manage relevant risk controls in line with company policy. Develop great partner relationship with our key suppliers and 3rd parties to ensure quality and consistency of invoicing and other energy data. Ensure that customer expectations are managed throughout the delivery process, whilst charging or recovering fees for out of scope work. Act as the key point of contact in relation to UA and Client Support for Specsavers, working closely with internal stakeholders to provide a great experience for Amber Clients.
