Operations Manager

Royal Tunbridge Wells, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated, personable, and proactive individual to join our team as Operations Manager. While experience in operations and compliance management - especially in a regulatory environment - is important, equally essential is the ability to connect with and lead and guide people effectively. This role requires someone who values collaboration and relationship-building as much as service improvement, policy management, and project delivery. The ability to explain processes and demonstrate critical thinking are also highly important as well as a solution-focused and efficient approach to challenges.

The successful candidate will ensure the Practice meets all regulatory requirements and achieves key targets across clinical and administrative areas. They will work closely and collaboratively with our diverse staff team, fostering an open, supportive, and positive working environment. The ability to engage authentically with colleagues, build trust, and navigate challenging situations with empathy will be as vital as managing operational strategies.

Person specification

We are looking for a confident, resilient, and authentic individual who excels in communication and interpersonal skills. This person should be approachable and able to work well with others - in all circumstances. Adaptability and emotional intelligence will be key in responding to the dynamic nature of the healthcare environment.

The ideal candidate will bring vision and accountability with a proactive problem-solving mindset. They will be flexible, responsible, and detail-oriented, with a genuine interest in supporting and developing the team alongside managing operational processes.

Experience

Previous healthcare management experience is not essential; however, candidates should demonstrate transferable skills and a willingness to quickly learn new systems. Familiarity with Optum (EMIS) and QOF is highly desirable. Most importantly, we want someone who values people and teamwork as much as processes and who is committed to creating a positive, inclusive workplace.

In return

We are a well-established practice located across 2 sites in Tunbridge Wells. We have a CQC rating of "Good" and have 5 GP Partners, 5 Salaried GPs, a nursing team of 7 and a multi-disciplinary support team. We are a training practice so support individual and team learning and development. We offer 6 weeks annual leave allowance, membership of the NHS Pension Scheme and eligibility for various NHS discounts. We believe staff well-being is key, so focus on open communication, positive working relationships and we hold regular team social events including art lessons, fundraising, book clubs and staff parties.
