Job Description

G4S Events are seeking to hire an Operations Manager to work primarily at The SEC, Glasgow.


Working 40 hours per week, including days, nights and weekends, in line with business needs.


38991.72 per annum, with the opportunity to work overtime across the wider events portfolio.

Key responsibilities:



Build and maintain effective customer relationships through planning, implementation and management of successful event security and stewarding operations Planning of Conference and Exhibitions across the Campus, ensuring all legal requirements are met, whilst meeting the client requirements and company standard procedures. Supporting Live Entertainment planning as and when required across Campus, ensuring all legal requirements are met, whilst meeting the client requirements and company standard procedures. Preparing Event Security and Crowd Management Risk Assessments for each event. Provide Operational support across campus and operations within the clients portfolio, such as large and/or higher risk events. Attending all events under your control; either overseeing the event personally or providing support to the team delivering the event Driving Uniform and professional standards across the campus Delivery of accepted gross margin for events within remit in line with business and customer requirement Continuously drive improvements and innovation throughout the business Responsible for timely and accurate invoicing for events Accountability of workforce through full employee life-cycle Responsible for people management and employment relations in line with key people policies Drive and monitor customer KPI's Adherence to project milestones within timescales for events including proactive planning Drive recruitment and selection in the function with support from the resourcing team Responsible for compliance of systems and processes in the function

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:



Experience in a similar role within the events or security industry An SIA Door Supervisor License or willingness to complete within 30 days of starting your role A NVQ Level 3 / 4 in Spectator Safety or willingness to complete within 6 months of starting your role An Event Management qualification (Desirable) Level 5 (or greater) Crowd Management qualification (desirable) Relevant H&S qualifications (e.g. IOSH / NEBOSH) (desirable or willingness to complete within employment) Experience of managing / working with large teams of people Experience of managing change and improvement Experience of building strong relationships with multiple stakeholders Experience of working within Sports, Music, C&E or other event types
