Breakout Youth are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic and organised Operations Manager to work with our small team of youth workers and volunteers to enable LGBTQ+ young people to access our services ?

Role Terms



Salary: Grade F - Starting Salary of 34,625.25 Pro Rata for 28 hours per week

Hours: 28 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 9:30am to 5:00pm

Role type: 1-year fixed term (if future funding allows convert to permanent)

Place of work: Breakout Youth Head Office - SVS, Voluntary Action Centre, SO14 1NW

About Breakout Youth



Breakout Youth is the leading LGBTQ+ youth services charity in Hampshire and the IOW. We are committed to supporting LGBTQ+ young people, or young people who are questioning their sexual and/ or gender identity across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight (age 11-25). We deliver a weekly youth group on the IOW, where we create safe, confidential spaces for young people to be their true authentic selves, meet other LGBTQ+ young people, receive accurate and appropriate support, information and advice and have fun. Breakout Youth also offer one to one support, LGBTQ+ Awareness training, community events and works to advocate on behalf of LGBTQ+ young people.

Your role


We are excited to recruit for an

Operations Manager

to support and manage the team at Breakout Youth including: line management (supervision, absence management, expenses, appraisals) of youth workers and administration Officer, the management of our youth group delivery program and 121 support (including risk assessments, session plan programme and staffing), management and delivery of Breakout Youths' Youth Board, planning and delivery of events (such as our annual Pride Prom, Pride events) and LGBTQ+ Awareness training delivery and accreditation across Hampshire and the IOW.

This is a hands on and engaging role, managing specialist LGBTQ+ youth workers, who are supporting vulnerable LGBTQ+ young people. You will also be responsible for managing partnerships and relationships with external organisations and partners. Your role will lead on the ongoing development and delivery of these projects in line with our strategy, helping to improve outcomes for LGBTQ+ children and young people.

The successful candidate will have some experience of working with young people, with lived experience of the LGBTQ+ Community (either as a member of the community or an ally) who is passionate about delivering high quality services and experiences to young people.
