Key Responsibilities1. Leadership & Department Oversight
Lead, motivate, and manage teams across multiple departments, ensuring smooth interdepartmental communication and collaboration.
Identify gaps or inefficiencies and
create new departments
or functions where required to support business growth.
Set clear objectives, performance targets, and accountability measures for all teams.
Mentor department heads and supervisors to build strong, capable leadership at all levels.
2. Warehouse & Logistics Management
Oversee the day-to-day running of the warehouse, including goods-in, storage, order picking, packing, and dispatch.
Manage warehouse layout to optimise space and workflow.
Implement and maintain robust health & safety policies.
Ensure all warehouse equipment is properly maintained and staff are trained to a high standard.
3. Inventory Planning & Forecasting
Create and manage inventory plans to maintain optimal stock levels across all channels.
Accurately forecast demand based on seasonal trends, promotions, and sales history.
Reduce out-of-stock and overstock situations through effective planning.
Liaise with suppliers and freight partners to ensure timely replenishment.
Utilise inventory management software (such as Linnworks) to maintain accurate stock control and streamline operations.
4. Business Operations
Take ownership of operational processes across the business, ensuring efficiency and continuous improvement.
Oversee order fulfilment, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to customers.
Implement operational KPIs and use data-driven insights to improve performance.
Work closely with finance on budgeting, cost control, and supplier negotiations.
5. Multi-Marketplace Management
Manage product listings, pricing, and promotional campaigns across
multiple online marketplaces
(e.g., Amazon, Wayfair, eBay, Shopify).
Ensure stock and order data is accurate and synchronised across all platforms.
Keep up-to-date with marketplace policies, algorithms, and seller performance metrics.
Monitor sales performance per marketplace, identifying opportunities for growth.
Collaborate with marketing to improve product visibility and conversion rates.
Qualifications & Experience
Proven track record as an Operations Manager, Warehouse Manager, or senior leadership role within an
e-commerce business
.
Strong leadership experience in
managing multiple departments
and
creating new functions or departments when required
.
Expertise in
inventory management, demand forecasting
, and supply chain processes.
Experience using inventory & warehouse management systems such as Linnworks is a strong advantage.
Strong knowledge of
multi-marketplace management
and e-commerce operations.
Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
Experience negotiating with suppliers, couriers, and logistics partners.
