We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised
Operations Manager
to join our growing team and play a key role in leading, improving and scaling our day-to-day delivery.
The Role:
As Operations Manager, you will support the Director with the smooth running of programmes across all sites. You'll be responsible for supporting and developing staff, managing systems and communications, and helping to embed a culture of excellence and fun.
This role includes
15 hours per week based within one of our wraparound care settings
, providing hands-on support, visibility, and understanding of daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day operational delivery across all Empower Active programmes
Line manage team members including club leaders, coaches and support staff
Manage and coordinate staff rotas, schedules and use of systems (e.g., BrightHR)
Ensure safeguarding, first aid, and health & safety protocols are met
Respond to school enquiries, ensuring clear and timely communication, ensuring all schools are happy throughout the school year
Supporting with the planning of sports and activity camps
Lead 15 hours of face-to-face delivery in a wraparound setting (before/after school)
Support programme development, staff training and event coordination
Work with the Director on growth strategy, new programme launches, and funding bids
Recruitment support
Essential Criteria
Experience in an operational or team leadership role
Experience working in a childcare, sports coaching, education or community setting
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to manage teams and coordinate multiple programmes
Excellent understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Confident with digital systems (emails, HR platforms, booking systems etc.)
Able to work flexibly, including occasional early mornings/late afternoons
Level 3 qualification or above in childcare, or education
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable Criteria
Experience managing wraparound care or holiday camps
Experience with Ofsted-registered provision
First Aid, Safeguarding and Food Hygiene qualifications
Knowledge of BrightHR or similar systems
Experience writing risk assessments and implementing health & safety measures
A passion for working in or leading a purpose-driven CIC
