Operations Manager/Food & Beverage Manager
is responsibility for ensuring the smooth-running of the operations functions within the village, specifically Food and Beverage (Front of House), Events and the Village Services Team (Reception), whilst delivering friendly and efficient customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere to residents and visitors.

Duties and Responsibilities
A key focus of the role will be to develop the F&B front of house service from scratch, to include implementing an ethos of exemplary service delivery across the village, and a gold standard customer dining experience. The role holder will be responsible for the recruitment, management, training, development and motivation of their teams within these areas.
The successful candidate will be able to manage the challenges that come from opening a new site, and must be able lead from the front. They must be highly visible to colleagues, residents and visitors alike, whilst supporting the Village Manager, across the business, to ensure the success of the village, and to deputise in their absence.
General
Operational management of F&B and Village Services team. (Concierge & reception)
Assisting in recruiting, training and development of team members within relevant departments under remit
Assisting the Village Services Manager with staff rotas for Concierge and Reception to guarantee that all services are covered during their operational hours, or alternative solutions are put in place if this can't be achieved
Manage the Restaurant team and work closely with the Head Chef
External Marketing of Spa and food offering - especially social media to grow awareness in the local community
Responsibility for maintenance and development of high service standards throughout all the relevant departments
Working with relevant department to manage, organise and develop the events schedule for residents for both in-house and external events
Responding to residents' enquiries and requests, and liaising with relevant departments to follow-up requests and queries
With input and support from Village Manager, managing budgets, working within budgets for own departments, and provide budget reports/KPI as required
Assisting the Village Manager in achieving the goals set in the budget providing
Acting as Duty Manager in absence of Village Manager, to include dealing with any urgent issues or emergencies by following procedures
Qualifications
HND/Bachelor's degree level education in relevant subject or equivalent professional level experience
Educated to A Levels standard
Leadership/management training
Clean Driving licence
Experience
Must have at least 2 years previous experience at a minimum level of Assistant Manager/ Food & Beverage Management/Duty Manager in a busy customer-facing environment ideally in Hotel, hospitality or a similar retirement community. At least 2 years operating within a Food & Beverage environment.
Person Specification
To be successful in this role you will need to balance a number of characteristics to ensure you maintain excellent customer service but do not lose business focus. You will need to be friendly, sociable, welcoming and be calm, patient and polite, but also professional, organised and driven to succeed.
An understanding of potential issues and challenges of working with an older demographic is essential.
Working hours will be 37.5hr per week, to be worked over 5 days (including weekends) along with an participating in an on-call rota for out of hours emergency response.
Due to the nature of the environment the successful will be required to undertake a DBS check - paid for by us.
