With a newly acquired UK AOC Ascend Airways are operating a small fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft (NG and MAX) in the ACMI market, opening its first operational base at London Gatwick in early 2024. The company is part of Avia Solutions Group, the world's largest ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) provider, operating a fleet of 221 aircraft on 6 continents.



The group also provides a range of aviation services: MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul), pilot and crew training, ground handling, as well as a variety of associated aviation services. Supported by 14,000 highly skilled aviation professionals, the group is a parent company to over 250+ subsidiaries

The Operations Planning Officer (OPO) ensures comprehensive preparations are made for our charter operations. The role is pivotal to customer satisfaction and enhancing both performance and reputation. The OPO ensures all planning activity is conducted in accordance with safety and regulatory responsibilities. The OPO collaborates with a broad range of stakeholders, partners, customers, and national authorities. Flight planning knowledge and commercial acumen are essential in the role. An intuitive knowledge of Ground Handling services is also necessary. The OPO is organised and methodical in their approach, they can work self-sufficiently and assimilate other roles within the team

Responsibilities:

Efficient and safe planning activities associated to all (YD) charter flights. Evaluating and fulfilling commercial requests through phased workflows. Oversight and evaluation of contracted ground handling activities. On occasion providing operational support onboard YD flights. Participation in the Ground Operations audit schedule. Translating departmental and corporate aims into daily objectives. Cost control. Reconcile of invoices and general administration tasks

The successful candidate will have the following experiences and attributes:

Experience within a dynamic Operational environment, preferably for an OCC and GHA Familiarity with aviation regulations and industry best practice Good appreciation of contracted ground handling functions and pertinent experience of ramp operations. Proficiency with operations control and strong MS product skills. A good appreciation of Flight Planning. Environmental acumen.
