Solar PV & Battery Storage



Location:

Cornwall (with some Isles of Scilly projects)

Hours:

Part-time (3 days per week to start)

Contract:

Permanent (with structured 90-day probation)

Salary:

38,000-48,000 FTE (pro-rata for part-time)

MW Solar is an established solar PV and battery storage installation business operating across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver high-quality residential, commercial, and specialist projects, with a strong focus on technical standards, compliance, and doing things properly.

The business is now strengthening its operational structure to support continued delivery while maintaining quality, safety, and client confidence.

The Role



We are seeking an

Operations & Site Survey Manager

to support the day-to-day running of the business and act as a bridge between site, office, installers, and clients.

This is

not a sales role

and

not a system design authority role

.
It is a practical, responsible role for someone with an electrical background who values structure, organisation, and clear processes.

You will work closely with the company director, who retains overall technical design and strategic responsibility.

Key Responsibilities



Operations & Coordination



Day-to-day job coordination and scheduling Liaison with installers, subcontractors, scaffolders, and suppliers Preparing jobs so installations run smoothly and predictably Managing timelines for staged and multi-phase projects Supporting logistics for larger projects, including Isles of Scilly works

Site Visits & Surveys



Carrying out site visits and technical surveys Assessing roofs, access, cable routes, plant locations, and constraints Gathering accurate information to support system design and quoting Identifying risks early and escalating where required Representing MW Solar professionally on site

Client & Office Support



Acting as a primary point of contact for operational queries Providing clear client updates and coordination Supporting quoting, invoicing, and job tracking processes Helping maintain an organised unit, stock, and workflow system

What We're Looking For Essentially



Electrical background (qualified electrician, electrical supervisor, or equivalent experience) Comfortable working on site, including roofs and construction environments Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Calm, professional communication style Comfortable working within defined processes and escalation routes

Desirable



Experience in solar PV, renewables, or electrical contracting Exposure to project coordination or supervision Familiarity with compliance-driven environments

Not a sales or commission-based role Not a system design lead role Not a "run the business your way" position

Working Pattern & Progression



The role will start at

3 days per week
