About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic

Operations Supervisor

to join our School Meals Service team at Riverside Catering. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality catering services across a portfolio of primary and secondary schools.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving service standards, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. A typical day will involve visiting kitchen sites, liaising with catering staff, problem-solving, and organising resources to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee catering operations across multiple school sites. Ensure compliance with School Food Standards, Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Fire Legislation. Manage stock control systems and monitor food budgets effectively. Recruit, supervise, and support staff development through training and performance reviews (PDRs). Conduct workplace observations and maintain service quality. Utilise ICT systems for reporting and communication.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

Significant experience in large-scale catering, including food preparation and cooking. Strong understanding of food safety regulations and school food standards. Proven ability to manage budgets and stock control. Excellent organisational and leadership skills. Proficiency in ICT applications including Word, Excel, and email.
