Gloucester | Full-time | Permanent



We're a well-established Gloucester-based business with over 20 years of success, and we're looking for a positive, hands-on Warehouse & Production Manager to lead our operations team and help us keep raising the bar.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading from the front, building strong teams, and creating calm, efficient operations -- with the full trust and backing of senior leadership.

You'll receive full training on our products and processes and join a good-humoured, down-to-earth team that values teamwork, ownership, and doing things properly.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (4:30pm finish on Fridays)

The role



Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll take ownership of our warehouse and production function, leading a team of 8 operatives (4 Production, 4 Warehouse).

You'll run day-to-day operations, keep things flowing smoothly, and create an environment where people feel supported, accountable, and proud of their work.

What you'll be doing:



Leading & developing the team



Lead, motivate, and support a team of 8 across warehouse and production Create a positive, engaged, and high-performing team culture Plan daily workloads and allocate labour effectively Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training Manage attendance, performance, and day-to-day people issues fairly and confidently Act as the first point of escalation for operational and team queries

Running smooth operations



Ensure production and picking/packing targets are met safely and accurately Monitor workflow, throughput, and resource use Solve day-to-day issues quickly to minimise disruption Adjust staffing and processes to meet changing demand Ensure machinery, tools, and systems are used correctly

Quality, stock & delivery



Oversee quality checks, inspections, and rework where required Manage goods-in, storage, picking, packing, and despatch Maintain strong stock accuracy through cycle counts and system updates Ensure delivery deadlines are consistently met

Continuous improvement



Track KPIs such as productivity, accuracy, waste, and downtime Identify trends and take proactive action Drive process improvements, layout changes, and efficiency gains Encourage team involvement and ownership of improvement ideas

Previous experience managing teams in warehouse, production, or operations A positive, upbeat leadership style that brings the best out of people Confident decision-making and strong organisational skills A hands-on mindset with a desire to improve how things are done Comfortable taking ownership and working autonomously
