About the role


Are you an experienced highways professional with a strong background in Reactive Maintenance? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where safety, quality, and performance are key? If so, we want to hear from you!

We're looking for a proactive and driven Operations Supervisor to support the delivery of Reactive Maintenance works across East Sussex. You'll play a vital role in ensuring our contractors meet performance targets, safety standards, and quality expectations. This is a hands-on supervisory role where your knowledge of highways, civil construction, and traffic management will be essential.
What you'll be doing




Supervise and support the delivery of Reactive Maintenance works using internal teams and supply chain partners.
Ensure all works meet contract specifications, safety standards, and performance indicators.
Liaise with Network teams for permitting and with Procurement for material ordering.
Conduct site audits to ensure compliance with Balfour Beatty's Safe Systems of Work.
Promote a culture of Zero Harm and report Close Calls and Good Practices.
Ensure compliance with relevant governance, including NHSS, NRSWA, and BIM system


Who we're looking for




Proven experience in Reactive Maintenance - this is essential.
Strong background in highways or civil engineering construction.
SSSTS certification and NRSWA Supervisor accreditation.
Lantra 12D (M1/M2, M5, M6) and CSCS card.
Excellent communication skills and a proactive, safety-first mindset.
Full UK driving licence.
