The 3PL Operations Supervisor plays a key role in leading daily warehouse operational activities in the a fast-paced, high-volume Wellingborough environment. , This role ensures operational targets are met, staffing is coordinated effectively, and quality and safety standards are consistently achieved.



The supervisor will lead a team of operatives across inbound, outbound, returns processing and Value Added Services (VAS) to ensure all customer SLAs are met or exceeded while working to contract productivity and profitability targets.




Operational Leadership




Supervise day-to-day warehouse activities including inbound receiving, put-away, picking, packing, outbound shipping, returns handling, VAS and reverse logistics. Ensure all operations adhere to service levels, accuracy standards, and turnaround-time requirements. Monitor workflow volumes and UPH's, adjusting labour allocation to meet volume fluctuations and deadlines. Conduct daily shift briefs, assign tasks, and monitor staff performance and productivity. Ensuring that all outbound loads are quality checked prior to loading and rectifying any errors. Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure outbound orders are presented for loading on time. Ensure effective deployment of the operational team to maximize MHE operational hours within the operation ensuring appropriate cover for annual leave and unplanned absence.

Performance Management & KPIs




Track and report key operational metrics, including: Throughput & productivity Inventory accuracy & cycle count performance On-time shipping & SLA adherence Quality and defect rates Identify and escalate risks that may impact operational performance Ensure that daily MHE checks are adhered to and all defect reported immediately.

Team Development




Support training, coaching, and continuous development of warehouse associates, temporary staff, and lead hands, ensuring training matrix is updated. Promote a positive, high-performance culture aligned with CTDI values. Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and skills assessment processes.

Process Improvement




Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve workflow efficiency. Support the implementation of CTDI and continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Kaizen). Recommend and execute corrective actions to avoid repeat issues

Health, Safety & Compliance




Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing CTDI safety policies and ensuring compliance with HSE regulations. Conduct safety walks, incident investigations, and corrective follow-ups. Ensure accurate and compliant documentation for inbound/outbound goods, returns, and regulated products.

Customer & Stakeholder Interaction




Collaborate closely with CTDI management and operational contacts to resolve issues, support forecasting, and share performance updates. Communicate clearly and professionally across teams, including planning, engineering, inventory control, and quality departments.

Qualifications & Experience




Essential




Experience in a supervisory role within a 3PL, warehouse, distribution centre, or high-volume logistics operation. Strong understanding of warehouse processes (inbound/outbound, returns, repair flows, inventory). Proven track record of leading teams and delivering performance targets. Ability to work in a fast-paced, SLA-driven environment. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills. Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends when required.

Desirable




Experience supporting e-commerce clients. Knowledge of Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies. Familiarity with WMS systems (SAP, Oracle, Manhattan, or CTDI proprietary systems). Forklift or MHE certification
