The role
We now seek an Operations Support Assistant/ Projects Support Assistant who will report to the Projects Support Manager to help with logistics and materials warehousing from our busy Bideford office and warehouse. The job involves organising and setting up materials and equipment required for installation teams in the field, and getting the materials to the right place at the right time.
Key tasks include:
Checking off materials lists and picking orders correctly and accurately
Loading van for delivery to site
Driving vans to arrange urgent pick up and delivery from time to time
Organising waste for recycling collections
Arranging routine maintenance checks and cleaning of company vehicles
Assisting with stock checks and tracing in Units and lockups and project teams
General admin to support PSM with supply chain management, insurance claims and vehicle maintenance and other tasks
Keeping units in good clean and tidy working order with everything in its place
You will be a key point of communication and customer service for internal teams liaising with Projects Support where they need assistance with supplies and tools
About you
The successful candidate will be highly organised, with good computer skills including Excel, have excellent attention to detail, be able to work at fast pace, have bags of common sense and be able to work calmly and methodically under pressure. You'll also be a good communicator with an excellent manner with people as well as strong admin skills and a good memory. A full, clean driving licence is essential as well as a minimum of GCSE Maths and English to Grade B (Level 5), plus either engineering, science or design technology to level 4 or 5.
Pay and benefits
Starting pay depends on age and experience but will be between 10.85 per hour and 13 per hour . Your pay will be reviewed after the first six months of employment. Hours of work will be 21 hours per week in the first instance in a pattern to be agreed. The role could grow to full time in the coming year or so by mutual agreement as the needs of the business grow.
