Operations Support Coordinator / Yeovil / \xc2\xa313.50 per hour

The Final Assembly Line Support Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the final assembly line (FAL) operations in an aircraft manufacturing environment. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to plan and execute aircraft assembly activities, maintain schedules, monitor critical paths, and support the analysis team. The coordinator is also responsible for maintaining clocking discipline and ensuring that the right materials and tooling are available for production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain an operations burndown plan in alignment with the aircraft build schedule, considering labour, build logic, critical path, capacity, tooling, and material availability.
  • Assist aircraft managers in accurately forecasting the build schedule on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Prepare daily work schedules for the assembly line.
  • Monitor the availability of operations and materials using relevant in-house programs and tools.
  • Collaborate with Availability Officers to ensure timely material availability and planning.
  • Maintain a schedule impact tracker and work with Project Planners on CPR (Critical Path Report) preparation.
  • Keep a job delay register and investigate any recurring trends.
  • Update the progress and completion status of each operation on a daily basis.
  • Analyse daily progress against the operations burndown plan and report to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure operator clocking discipline is maintained through daily checks.
  • Control the integrity and quality of schedules and implement baseline changes as needed.
  • Collaborate with different teams across the organisation to improve planning and reporting processes.
  • Document all processes accurately in departmental instructions.
Ideal person
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with operators, team leaders, managers, and other teams.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software tools, including SAP and spreadsheet applications f
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyse trends and data.
  • Ability to work in a site-based environment and a willingness to attend meetings.
  • Knowledge of aircraft assembly processes and materials supply chain is a plus.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing production needs.
  • Prior experience in a similar role within an aircraft manufacturing or assembly environment is beneficial.
  • This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the efficient assembly of aircraft on the final assembly line, contributing to the overall success of the aircraft manufacturing operation.
