Tidyco is a multi-divisional engineering company based in Derby, since 1973, and are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible individual to join our current engineering team.

We are currently recruiting a Operations Technician / Tube Bending Machine Operator to join us in our busy operations team. This role is a full time, permanent, contract.

Working hours are 40 per week, working Monday - Thursday, 8.00am - 5.00pm, Friday 8.00am - 2.30pm.

Responsibilities:



Set up, adjust, and operate tube bending machinery and equipment to bend structural metal pipe, tube, and bar to customer specifications. Bend tubes directly from drawings, STEP files, samples, or instructions independently. Select and use layouts, templates, fixtures, and jigs as required. Develop layouts from drawings, samples, or instructions. Check bent parts against drawing specifications and tolerances using appropriate measurement and inspection equipment. Inspect finished products to ensure accuracy and quality, maintaining and operating tube bending equipment to a high standard. Produce and refurbish hose assemblies using machinery. Assemble hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies. Assemble brake coupling assemblies. Perform first article runs and provide feedback or recommendations for process improvements. Complete all required documentation accurately and on time. Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are adhered to at all times. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace.

Skills:


Essential:



Previous experience within an Operations / Production environment. Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and commitment to safe working practices. High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards. Self-motivated. Organised and methodical.

Desirable (as training can be provided):



Skilled in operating and adjusting tube bending machinery. Able to bend tubes from drawings, files, samples, or instructions independently. Experienced with layouts, templates, fixtures, and jigs. Proficient in assembling hydraulic, pneumatic, and brake couplings. Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications. Competent in measurement and inspection tools for quality checks. Formal engineering or manufacturing qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent). Full UK Driving Licence.
