Job Description

RAFCTE is best known for staging the world renowned Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire each year. In 2003, RIAT was granted status as the largest military air show globally by Guinness World Records. In addition to the heads of many of the world's air forces and major suppliers to the sector, RIAT also hosts thousands of aviation enthusiasts and members of the public over three days. As well as aviation the event is increasingly a family day out, with the exceptional Techno Zone providing unique interactive STEM activities, under the banner of RAFCT's mission to inspire young people to fulfil their potential in air, space and technology. In total, over 200,000 people attended RIAT in 2024.

We are looking for a Ground Operations Logistics Assistant who will be responsible for supporting the Ground Operations Manager in the day-to-day delivery of the RIAT Showground Build/load-in, Load-out/Recovery phases.
Your main responsibilities will include:

Carrying out all Site related tasks allocated from Site Office Ensuring the safe build of the RIAT Showground as per CAD Carrying out manual handling tasks Driving of site vehicles and forklifts (if licenced) Ensuring a safe recovery of site infrastructure and Showground

Type of Contract/Working hours


Fixed Term Contract:

9th June 2025 - 8th August 2025

36.25 hours per week. This role will be shift based working early, late and weekends once the Showground build commences. All employees are required to work the Saturday or Sunday before the Royal International Air Tattoo and the whole weekend of the event.

What we offer


A salary of25,000 per annum pro rata.
You will also be given two complimentary tickets to The Royal International Air Tattoo and a staff discount of 50% for an additional six.

About You


Having a forklift driving licence will give you an advantage however if you have experience as a labourer or a similar construction-based role, are committed to excellence with strong ability to prioritise tasks we encourage you to apply for this role. Candidates must be willing to carry out a multitude of physical tasks throughout all phases of the event. Driving licence is essential.
