The Role



To Polish Components to a required tolerance and correct any deviations (Minimum of three different blade types in three different cells)

Key Responsibilities



Polish Radius, Platforms and Root Areas Remove Profile from Aerofoil Blend Machine Marks Turn leading Edge and Trailing Edge and Inspect Reduce Aerofoil if oversize Special rework e.g. to remove any damage or machine errors, also covering root rework Operate CNC and conventional machines and inspect output to produce components in line with A EXP Operator Inspector Other duties as required compatible with this job and the employee's individual skills at the direction of the supervisor/manager Engage and promote in cell Standardization - Health & Safety, 6S, SOPs, Daily Check Sheet, Front line asset care, Machine First Off, Date Calibration Book off in accordance with all production and quality requirements

Job Requirements



Meeting daily production targets whilst maintaining quality standards Decision Marking - When components can be reworked or salvaged - and when they need to be scrapped Discuss job priorities with supervision. Discuss with supervisor and / or quality dept any non-conforming parts for possible salvage rework or concession Maintain good working relationships with all colleagues within cell and support areas NVQ 1 - Mechanical Engineering Relevant safety certificates e.g., grinding wheel certification Manual handling training may be appropriate in some areas OK Stamp status 6 months of machine operating experience Ability to follow Company planning and procedures and recognise abbreviations/symbols A high degree of manual dexterity is required on three different blade types to rework and polish components to a high degree of accuracy such that they meet customer quality standards Numeracy Skills Communication Skills Basic IT Ability to use measuring instruments e.g. Vernier, Gauges, Micrometres and Electronic Gauges

The main full time shift in which we run at MB Aerospace Newton Abbot is;

7:30am till 4:00pm Monday to Thursday, 7:30am till 12:30pm Friday (for 4 weeks)

12:30pm till 9:00pm Monday to Thursday, 12:30pm - 5:30pm Friday (for 4 weeks) = 19% shift premium

9:00pm - 7:00am Monday to Wednesday, 9:00pm - 6:00am Thursday (for 4 weeks) = 33% shift premium
