We are seeking a skilled Operator to join the team in our Recovery Plant. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with hazardous material, ideally in a manufacturing/process environment. A current FLT license is desirable however, training can be provided. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient operation of our manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
Controlling Silver stocks
Maintaining Catalyst burners, replacing the silver, inspection of castings / gaskets and fittings
Maintaining Silver Press
Controlling Off-spec material (OSM) through the recovery process
Manual handling and use of Forklift Truck
Assisting with loading / offloading of finished material and packaging
Controlling the quality of new Silver
Reworking off-spec paraform and formalin
Operation of all relevant processes within the boundaries of the IPPC permit
Prevention of identified major accident hazards by the following control measures:
Within your area of responsibility you will work by following information provided in the form of Standard Operating Procedures, Method Statement, Risk Assessments, COSSH Assessments and Permits to Work.
You will have a continuous appreciation of the condition of safety of instrumented systems and immediately respond and implement necessary remedial action to operator alert alarms
Carry out routine inspection of plant areas during the shift
Complying with all other current Health & Safety Legislation applicable
Maintenance of plant records for inspection & review
Requirements
Proven experience in a similar Operator role or related field.
Some mechanical knowledge
Good mathematical and communication skills
Previous warehouse experience is beneficial for understanding materials handling processes.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
