Job Description

As an Ophthalmic Practitioner at our Surgical Ophthalmic Clinic, you will play a critical role in assisting with the diagnosis and treatment of eye-related conditions and surgical procedures. You will work closely with the ophthalmic surgical team, patients, and other healthcare professionals to provide essential support and patient care.

Key Responsibilities:



Patient Preparation:

Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and surgeries by explaining the process, ensuring patient comfort, and addressing any concerns or questions.

Assistance in Diagnostic Procedures:

Assist ophthalmologists in conducting various diagnostic tests and procedures, such as visual acuity tests, tonometry, and imaging scans.

Instrument Sterilization:

Ensure that all ophthalmic instruments and equipment are sterilized and maintained in a hygienic and safe condition.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including test results, medications administered, and patient information.

Patient Education:

Educate patients on post-operative care and provide written instructions as necessary.

Assistance in Surgical Procedures:

Assist during ophthalmic surgeries by handing instruments, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing any required support.

Patient Support:

Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients before, during, and after diagnostic tests and surgical procedures.

Equipment Maintenance:

Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of diagnostic equipment and instruments.

Infection Control:

Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment in compliance with healthcare standards.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with the surgical and medical teams, including ophthalmologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure effective patient care.

Qualifications/Experience:



Prior experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in ophthalmology Knowledge of ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and procedures is desirable Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain a sterile environment. Compassion, empathy, and a patient-centered approach
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 25,000.00-29,000.00 per year
