We are seeking a highly organised and professional Technician to join our premium medical clinic. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive diagnostic support to our medical team, with a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day activities in a busy and specialised clinical environment. You will work closely with members of the medical, administrative and nursing teams and deliver a professional, high-end experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:



To independently perform visual acuities, intraocular pressure testing, optical coherence tomography scans, fundus photography, and other different imaging techniques required for patients. Training on the specific state-of-the-art devices will be provided.

Be competent to identify the normal and abnormal eye imaging anatomy.

Possess excellent communication skills to effectively give instructions to patients for the acquisition of ophthalmic images and communicating relevant information to the clinical team.

Be familiar with local diagnostic protocols and standard operating procedures

Prepare clinical rooms and equipment, ensuring machines are clean, calibrated, and safe.

Assist consultants and nursing staff during clinics and minor procedures.

Maintain accurate patient records

Ensure that the clinical areas are well stocked and organised, assisting in replenishment as required.

Maintain a good working relationship with the medical, nursing and administrative teams.

Communicate clearly and politely to patients, ensuring the highest possible standards are upheld at all times

Participate in the reception of patients and relatives within the clinical area and act courteously to all visitors.

The list of responsibilities is not intended to be all inclusive and the employee will also perform other reasonable related duties as assigned by the management team.

Required Qualifications & Skills:



Able to perform all imaging tests for patient requiring ophthalmic assessment and treatment.

Wide experience of ophthalmic technical imaging equipment.

Knowledge of the eye anatomy

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and colleagues.

Ability to work flexibly and manage time effectively in pressurised or unplanned situations

Highly organised with the ability to prioritise own workload.

IT literacy and confidence with electronic health record systems.

NVQ Level 3 in Health care or equivalent experience

Certificate in the anatomy of the eye or equivalent experience

Certificate in OCT acquisition and fundus photography or equivalent experience

Desirable Skills:



Experience with medical billing, particularly in ophthalmology or similar specialities. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and data protection laws. First aid training
