Ophthalmic Technician
Job Description
To undertake ophthalmic technician duties including (but not limited to) : Visual acuity assessment Computerised visual field assessment Retinal imaging using various retinal imaging devices including OPTOS and OCT imaging Measurement of spectacles using the automated focimeter Measurement of Intraocular pressure using the Reichert Ocular Response Analyser and iCARE To participate in the virtual glaucoma, medical retinal and visual field clinics as required. To use patient management systems and electronic patient records To undertake administrative tasks associated with the role, following departmental guidelines and procedures. To contribute to the efficient running of all clinics To ensure safe use and maintenance of all equipment To commit to further training as required To demonstrate ophthalmic technician duties to others and to assist in training new staff when necessary To ensure compliance with policies and procedures of the Trust To contribute to service development
