as an

Ophthalmology Nurse

and support our weekend waiting list initiative sessions across Northern Ireland. You'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to patients awaiting ophthalmic procedures - while enjoying flexible, well-compensated work on your own terms.

You'll be responsible for delivering pre-operative care to patients undergoing ophthalmic surgery, such as cataract or oculoplastic procedures. This includes clinical assessments, patient education, and working alongside surgical teams to ensure every patient is fully prepared for their treatment.

Duties

Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments for patients undergoing ophthalmic surgery (e.g., cataracts, oculoplastics) Review medical histories, medication use, and identify potential surgical or anaesthetic risks Perform baseline observations and relevant clinical tests (e.g., blood pressure, blood glucose, ECGs if required) Provide clear pre-operative instructions and education to patients and carers Liaise with surgeons, anaesthetists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient readiness Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to effective patient flow and scheduling

Criteria for applicants

:

- 1 year experience working as an Ophthalmology Nurse working in pre -assessment/ theatres

- Hold registration with NMC

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: 350.00 per day

Weekend availability Weekends only
