Job Description

Bargoed Sight Centre is looking for an Optical Assistant to join our team. Our Practice has been established for over 30 years and has a loyal patient base. We pride ourselves in high quality patient care and are now looking for a new likeminded team member to come on board. As an Optical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting patients with their eyewear needs and ensuring a positive experience in all aspects of their time within the practice.

Responsibilities:

- Spectacle dispensing, including guidance on lens options, frames, and lens coatings
- Process orders for eyewear and contact lenses
- Spectacle adjustments and repairs
- Reception work, including good telephone etiquette and booking appointments using a computerised system

Requirements/experience:

- Previous experience as an Optical Assistant is preferred but not required
- The ability to work well as part of a team and on your own
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly and professional manner
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Proficient computer skills for maintaining electronic records.

Schedule:

- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (9:30am to 5:30pm)
- Saturday mornings (1-2 per month) (9:30am to 1:30pm)

Pay: From 12.50 per hour
