About the Role:

Opticare is seeking a friendly, professional, and capable

Optical Assistant

to join our growing team. This role primarily focuses on optical work but will also include supporting our

Audiocare

services--particularly handling phone queries, booking appointments for hearing tests and earwax removals, and offering basic advice to patients.

We're ideally looking for someone with

previous experience as an Optical Assistant

, but we are happy to consider someone who is

quick to learn, confident, and customer-focused

.

Key Responsibilities:

Optical:

Assist patients in choosing suitable frames and lenses. Take accurate

PDs (pupillary distances)

,

heights

, and other frame fitting measurements. Adjust and repair spectacles. Provide aftercare and product advice. Place and track orders with frame and lens suppliers (we use

Zeiss lenses

and a variety of quality frame brands).
Audiology:

Answer incoming calls and respond to patient queries. Book appointments for

hearing tests

and

earwax removals

. Provide basic information and advice regarding audiology services. Liaise with audiologists to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Ideal Candidate:

Experience working as an

Optical Assistant

(preferred). Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Comfortable working across

multiple locations

. Organised, reliable, and a great team player. Willing and able to take on new responsibilities and learn about audiology support. Confident with adjusting and repairing glasses.

Working Hours:

5 days per week

(3 days in

Rosetta

, 1 in

Lisburn Road

, 1 in

Holywood

)

Flexibility

to provide cover at Lisburn Road or Holywood when required.
