Job Summary:

At Optiical Centre Martham, we are seeking an experienced and customer-focused optical assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional eye care service, providing expert optical advice and supporting sales. You will serve as a key liaison between customers and the clinical team, ensuring a seamless, high-quality experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert advice on frames, lenses, contact lenses, coatings, and other optical products tailored to individual customer needs. Conduct pre-screening and vision tests under the supervision of the optometrist. Assist in fitting and adjusting eyewear to ensure customer comfort and satisfaction. Handle complex prescriptions and offer bespoke lens solutions. Support and drive sales by identifying customer needs and promoting relevant products and services. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new optical technologies, fashion trends, and industry standards. Mentor and support junior team members, providing on-the-job training and advice. Ensure compliance with optical regulations and company policies. Manage inventory and product displays to optimize the retail experience. Handle customer service issues with professionalism and a solution-oriented approach.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience in a fairly senior optical retail role. Strong understanding of optical products and services, including lens types and frame fitting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead, coach, and support a team in a busy retail environment. Attention to detail and a commitment to outstanding customer care. Familiarity with optical dispensing software is a plus. Flexibility to work weekends and extended hours as needed.
