We're looking for a friendly, professional and enthusiastic optical assistant to join our team.
Main duties will include general reception work such as booking appointments, completing NHS and private paperwork and serving customers. Under the supervision of the optometrist, you will be responsible for helping patients to choose their frames and provide advice regarding lens options. Full training will be provided for your dispensing role. We have the opportunity for further training within our glazing lab for the right candidate.
We're offering a minimum of 15-18 hours per week contract depending upon candidate with the possibility of increasing hours over time.

Essential skills:
-Computer literacy (basic optical software and Microsoft Office)
-Excellent customer service both face to face and via telephone
-Flexible working hours
-Good literacy and numeracy skills
-Reliable, professional and methodical
Desirable skills:
-Previous experience working with members of the public within a medical/healthcare role
-Previous dispensing experience
You must be prepared to learn new skills and adhere to strict confidentiality rules with regards to patient information. We will carry out a DBS check due to the nature of your job working with children and vulnerable adults.
